Lauren Goodger has opened up about the highs and lows of being a single parent to her 15-month-old daughter after a series of tragedies.
The reality star, 36, has been through an incredibly difficult time in recent months, with her newborn daughter Lorena dying shortly after birth in July.
She also experienced the loss of her former partner, Jake McLean, who was killed in a car crash that same month; the pair had previously spent five years in a relationship.
On the day of baby Lorena’s funeral, Lauren was attacked in a vicious assault which left her with serious facial injuries, and she and her children’s father, Charles Drury, have since split up.
The former Towie icon has been open about her grief of losing Lorena while also raising Larose, 15 months, and this week shared how she was feeling in a candid Instagram post.
Taking to her Stories, the mum shared a video of her cuddled up in bed with her daughter and said she was feeling ’emotional’ watching her daughter grow.
‘It’s really emotional because she’s not a baby anymore,’ Lauren said as Larose babbled beside her.
‘She’s changed so much in the last few weeks. The things she says, the way she runs about. She’s so clever and she gets me… We have this banter, we just get each other.
‘She lay there and grinned at me, I grinned at her, and we just started laughing. She’s like a little girl,’ Lauren said, her voice shaking.
‘It’s been a really hard time,’ she admitted.
‘I’m mum, I’m dad, I’m doing so much on my own but it’s so beautiful and magical and it makes me want to cry. Because she is just amazing.’
Lauren worried that her daughter ‘deserves so much more,’ but added: ‘I give her everything, she has every bit of me.’
Gushing over her little girl, Lauren went on to say that everyone who meets her ‘says she’s such a happy, lovely girl.’
‘I really am trying so hard every day for her,’ she said. ‘What a time I’ve been through.’
Lauren went on to say she had a ‘hard day’ coming tomorrow, cryptically adding:’ I deal with a lot, there’s so much that goes on behind closed doors.
‘But [Larose] is just amazing. She’s meeting all her milestones, she had her checks done the other week and she’s exactly where she should be.
‘It’s just emotional, she’s not this baby anymore. These changes, how she banters with me, it’s so weird. She’s just so switched on with everything.’
Lauren recently returned to work for the first time since Lorena’s death, having taken time off following the tragedy.
Writing alongside some glamorous selfies, the star wrote: ‘My first day back to work today shooting.
‘After taking a break for my mind after everything I’ve been through, I decided to find that fire & drive in me, slowly and bit by bit Lauren is coming back.
‘I [may] never be the same again but I’m adjusting to normal life and it feels good.’
