Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton has said that Jimmy Savile’s disturbing words to her continue to haunt her.
In 2006, the former beauty model went on Celebrity Big Brother, when she won £25,000 by fooling Michael Barrymore and Pete Burns that she was famous.
Savile had a brief cameo in that series as well, entering on Day 10 and introducing himself to the housemates while wearing his distinctive red tracksuit and spectacles.
He was given the duty of ‘fixing it’ in allusion to his successful BBC programme, and he lavished the candidates with presents, including a pampering kit for basketball player Dennis Rodman.
He also made many indecent comments and, shortly after entering the house, put Chantelle’s hand in his and kissed it twice.
He told her that he would love her with ‘sincerity and tenderness’ and pledged to marry each woman in the house ‘for at least 24 hours’.
He then added to his comments by saying, ‘I always tell the truth even when I’m lying,’ and told actress Rula Lenska that she was ‘far prettier in the flesh’.
When Chantelle mentioned that she needed an earring repaired, Savile responded, ‘My place or yours.’
Savile died in 2011 at the age of 84, little under a year before his multiple sexual offences were disclosed as part of Operation Yewtree, in which police interviewed hundreds of victims.
Chantelle has now spoken about her meeting with Savile, saying it made her “blood run cold.”
In a new interview, the 40-year-old said: ‘Obviously back then, no one knew anything, so it was a bit of a “wow” moment, him coming in.
‘It was Sir Jimmy Savile, wasn’t it? The excitement in the house, when he walked through, was just electric. He was this iconic guy, it was just exciting.’
She went on to say that meeting the ‘funny’ and ‘charming’ Savile was a ‘great honour’ at the time.
‘Everybody was sitting there hanging off of his every word, and you could see how, especially Michael Barrymore, Preston and Pete Burns, they were mesmerised by him.’
Chantelle continued to The Sun: ‘Now, obviously, we know what and who he really was, it literally makes my blood run cold.
‘But it also makes my blood boil, because I wish I’d known what he was then and I really wish that he’d known that we’d all know who he was, before he died.’
She continued: ‘It’s just really creepy and I feel pretty disgusted that I’ve even been in his presence, that he’s kissed my hand and said them vile things to me.’
She concluded to The Sun: ‘I think he’s a f*****g paedo pervert and I hope he rots in hell with those poor worms eating his eyes.’
