Paddy McGuinness has apparently secured a second season of Tempting Fortune, which aired on Channel 4.
This comes after the BBC cancelled both A Question of Sport and Top Gear.
Former Take Me Out host Paddy, 50, is expected to return to screens, although Channel 4 has yet to commission a new series, which might air on another channel or streaming site.
A source said: ‘He’ll be breathing a deep sigh of relief that Tempting Fortune did well when it first aired and that it’s been deemed worthy of a sequel.
‘Paddy went from being on our screens regularly to virtually disappearing in 2023, with this show the one exception.’
The insider went on to The Sun: ‘Notably, it also saw him come full circle by returning to Channel 4, which is where his caeer started out on comedy Phoenix Nights.
‘But it remains to be seen where and when any second series of Tempting Fortune ends up airing.’
The six-part series followed 12 strangers as they trekked across South Africa for 18 days in the hopes of winning £300,000, but only if they spent it on enticing pleasures first.
The rumours follow speculation that Paddy may host the new ITV gameshow Bullseye, which could make a stunning return to television after 29 years off.
The BBC terminated A Question of Sport after more than 50 years on air in December of this year owing to ‘dwindling’ ratings.
A BBC spokesperson confirmed: ‘Due to inflation and funding challenges, difficult decisions have to be made, therefore Question of Sport is currently not in production at the moment.’
Just weeks earlier, Top Gear, which Paddy co-presented with Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris, was officially taken off air, after Flintoff’s horror car crash.
The BBC confirmed it would be ‘rested’ for the ‘foreseeable future’.
Sharing some photos of the trio behind-the-scenes on social media, Paddy wrote at the time: ‘We were always going to be b***ends but we were your b***ends.
‘Thanks for all the love over the years folks, it was very much appreciated. #TopGear.’
Tempting Fortune is available to watch on Channel 4.
