Warning: spoilers ahead for She-Hulk episode 8.
It finally happened – Daredevil (Charlie Cox) appeared in She-Hulk episode 8 on Disney Plus… and just like fans imagined they would, Matt Murdock and Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) had chemistry that was off the charts.
Matt’s arrival in Los Angeles comes about when he’s called up to represent fashion designer Luke Jacobson (Griffin Matthews) in court, going up against Jennifer while she attempts to defend her own foolish client.
Matt and Jennifer end up spending more time together in and out of their superhero costumes (literally) – but after the excitement of Daredevil and She-Hulk’s awesome action and sizzling romance, the episode takes an extremely dark turn that has left fans horrified.
We can’t wait to (hopefully) see more of Daredevil and She-Hulk on screen together – and we’re also desperate to see Intelligencia and the ‘Hulk King’ receive their comeuppance for their abhorrent acts.
Daredevil and Matt Murdock put Leap Frog in his place
For weeks, fans have been waiting for Daredevil to finally make his return to the TV screen following Matt’s cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and he definitely lived up to expectations.
Not only does he put the phoney Leap-Frog (Brandon Stanley) in his place in court – after discovering that the fake superhero didn’t follow the instructions of his costume’s manufacturer Luke before it malfunctioned – but he also goes him at his secret lair, with Jennifer’s help.
Fans of Daredevil’s Netflix series will know how much the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen loves a corridor fight scene, and they got another one in She-Hulk episode 8 – before the titular hero smashed in through the ceiling, taking out an entire group of goons in an epic show of teamwork.
With his brand new gold and red suit in tow, excitement for Daredevil’s own upcoming new series – Daredevil: Born Again on Disney Plus – couldn’t be at a higher level.
Matt and Jennifer’s chemistry is off the charts
From the short snippets we’d seen before this week’s episode came out, we knew that Matt and Jennifer on screen together, both as lawyers and superheroes, was going to take viewers on an entertaining ride.
That it did, with the pair making a very effective duo when infiltrating Leap-Frog’s not-to-secret hideout and saving Luke, after the fashion designer was kidnapped.
After their mission, Matt says they could go for dinner next time they see each other – but Jennifer suggests they skip all of that, as they head back to her apartment and straight to the bedroom in a moment fans had been waiting for ever since Daredevil’s involvement in She-Hulk was announced.
Not only is their chemistry off the charts, as many Twitter users pointed out, but seeing Matt leaving Jennifer’s apartment in the morning, carrying his boots in his hands while doing the so-called ‘walk of shame’, was a sight we’ll definitely cherish forever.
Jennifer’s big night is ruined by Intelligencia
Having been nominated for Female Lawyer of the Year, Jennifer heads to the gala to hopefully scoop up the award, donning a stunning, silver, floor-length gown designed for her by Luke, who’s put her back in his good books after her team-up with Daredevil.
Jennifer’s in high spirits while at the event with best friend Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga), co-worker and friend Pug (Josh Segarra) and her parents, before it’s revealed that she – and several of her peers – have won the accolade.
Shortly after she and the rest of the group take to the stage, it’s revealed that ‘Hulk King’, who appears to run Intellencia, has hacked the screen behind them, in a plain attack on Jennifer.
Things take an extremely dark turn in a moment that many women can relate to in real life, as Jennifer is attacked in a disgustingly personal and private manner.
She-Hulk viewers shocked by revenge porn horror twist
Before Jennifer headed to the gala to receive the Female Lawyer of the Year award, she teased to the audience that a big twist was coming.
We’re not sure anyone could have anticipated just how big and horrifying that twist would be, after Intelligencia – the hateful site on the dark web filled with death threats targeting Jennifer – poured the contents of her phone onto the big screen behind her.
However, that wasn’t the worst of it, as it was then revealed that when Jennifer slept with Josh (Trevor Salter), not only did he copy her phone and steal a sample of her blood, but he also filmed them having sex without her consent, making Jennifer the victim of revenge porn.
As Josh’s gross invasion of privacy is broadcast on the big screen, Jennifer understandably becomes overcome with rage, destroying the screen before being surrounded by gunmen outside, hinting that this could be the moment – just as her cousin Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) warned – when the world begins to wrongly view her as the monster.
She-Hulk is available to watch on Disney Plus with new episodes released on Thursdays.
